Kids: Susy Rojas completes 1st summer of UC Berkeley Talent Development Program
Susy Rojas, one of Good for Kids's star Coaching Scholarship graduates, recently completed her first summer in the Berkeley Talent Development Program. The 4 year summer program admits a select number of students to study college level courses over a 6 week period each summer. Suzy chose Art and Design as this summer's focus and capitalized on the techniques and progress she made with Coach William in her Good for Kids Coaching Scholarship. This year Susy is a Freshman at San Francisco's School of the Arts and is excited to continue developing her art skills and style. Please join us in wishing her all the best at SOTA!

Programs: 32 Camp Scholarships and 7 Coaching Scholarships- See Kids in Action!
This summer Good for Kids awarded 31 Camp Scholarships to 7th and 8th graders from the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco. This is a significant increase over last year, with a number of strong candidates for Good for Kids Coaching Scholarships this Fall. Good for Kids' staff spent 3 days at Camp Mendocino during each of 3 sessions getting to know our scholarship recipients and observing their strengths in arts and sports. We want to Thank our supporters who contributed Camp Scholarships and the staff at the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco and Camp Mendocino for their energy and commitment to building healthier children. Johnny and Elizabeth, great job this summer!
This Fall's Coaching Scholarships have gotten off to a great start. We have awarded 7 one-on-one scholarships to Andrew, Darron, Javon, Jenny, Jessie, Quiante, and Ruth. You can see them in action and check in on their progress at Our Kids page. Click on the photos above then click on the 'Play' tab to see video of our kids.

Fundraising: Final Tally and Team Good for Kids race photos
Thanks to Lia and Piera, from Team Good for Kids, and our core supporters, our inaugural fundraising campaign produced over $41,000 in donations from individuals around the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. On behalf of the children we serve, we are extremely grateful for the generosity of our contributors. With their support for our programs we will deliver educational value to the community and build smarter, healthier kids. This summer's Camp Scholarships and the subsequent Coaching Scholarships produce meaningful results as more kids find better things to do through the Good for Kids Foundation.
We would like to extend a special 'Thank You' to our Coaching Scholarship donors ($1200 +), many of whom were racers in this year's Marathon des Sable. See if you can pick one of them out in Team GFK's photo diary of the race (Clue, he's the one carrying a blue runner).

Announcements: Please join us and welcome the GFK Advisory Board and Program Manager to our Team
The future of Good for Kids and our ability to add value to the communities we serve is possible only through the vision, ideas, and expertise of the people on our team. An integral part of the team is the group of advisors who lend their ears and their voices to ensure Good for Kids is effective in fulfilling it's vision. Over the last 9 months we have invited individuals from varied backgrounds and professions with a commitment to quality youth development to serve as this cornerstone of our organization. We are honored to welcome our Advisory Board members and look forward to melding our minds to make a constructive contribution to the community. You can find out more about their individual backgrounds and experience on our Advisory Board webpage.
We would also like to welcome Abbey Gelineau to the Good for Kids team as Program Manager. Abbey joins us from a background in education as a Middle School counselor in San Francisco's Unified School District. She is also persuing her Masters In Psychology at the University of San Francisco and has already cut her teeth on this Summer's Good for Kids Camp Scholarships. As Program Manager, Abbey is responsible for running the Coaching Scholarship program and events, and working with Nicholas to build the Good for Kids Advisory Services. Please join us in welcoming her to Good for Kids!
